Thigh High Boots

24 Mar

FullSizeRender[3]Olivia Palmero gave me thigh high boot envy this year and after being ridiculously fussy, I finally found a pair I liked! I went for a medium chunky heel in a black suede, so I can wear them casually in the day and more dressed up on the evening. I did also like a few leather styles, but I felt like the suede material was more understated and reduced my fear of me looking like a stripper…

FullSizeRender[2]The oversized jumper is from H&M and is cosiest thing ever. A cream jumper is great for transitioning into spring and I’d go for one in a long length so you can wear it as a jumper dress. To keep warm, I layered with a black long-sleeve basic and slip dress with lace trim.

FullSizeRender[1]I always wear long socks under these boots to give the illusion that they are slightly higher up the thigh.

My handbag is Michael Kors and adds a little pop of the camo trend.

My beloved hat is Primark and I’ve also added a gold earring to the ribbon!

The Essential Cosy Jumper: 3 Ways

3 Nov

Topshop duster coatOne of my key pieces this Autumn/Winter, is my cosy, ridiculously warm, beige wooly jumper. I’ve styled it in three different ways in this post to show how it can be worn in alternative combos!

River Island Hat

Topshop Duster CoatTo add a little detail to this outfit, I wore my black slip style dress underneath, which reveals a little bit of its lace trim just under the jumper. I also wore my (matrix style) black duster coat, added a hat for a splash of colour and finished with black, open toe Zara heels, which I must say are the comfiest heels I have ever worn! I can literally wear them for hours on a night out, dancing away, with no pain! They’re a heel dream.

The duster coat comes with detachable black/emerald faux fur around the neck, which I will be adding on as we move into winter!

Outfit minus the jacket

The material and the roll neck style of the jumper keeps me so warm, it is exactly what I need being up north!

DSC_0748Metallic is still around this season, so here I’ve put the jumper with metallic shorts and black ankle boots. You can always add black tights if it getting too cold for a bare leg, but I always feel I stay warm if my upper body is wrapped up! I wear these boots frequently in the daytime as they’re a great height for walking around and they are also high enough to wear on a casual night out. The boots also have side cut outs, so I like to wear coloured, print or glitter socks for an extra bit of detail.

Metallic Shorts ZaraMetallic Shorts ZaraLastly, my lazy day uni outfit… ripped jeans, jumper and trainers! Let’s be honest here… when you have to be up early and your brain isn’t working, this is going to be the obvious outfit choice!

Zara ripped jeansThe trainers are Nike Flyknits, which I spotted in the Nike store in Las Vegas and had to have after a few wins in the casino!

Nike FlynetsI have also purchased a black roll neck in a thinner material from H&M, which I have also been wearing in all these combos! The thinner roll neck jumper is my choice for when it’s slightly warmer outside.

I hope everyone has had a great start to November and please share this post if you’ve enjoyed!

Back to the 90’s with Palladium Boots

29 May

Palladium Boots - Olive Loves

Seeing as it’s been raining these past couple of days… I thought it would be a good time to post about my waterproof Palladium Boots! Famous for their signature toecap, Palladium Boots have been producing durable footwear since 1942.

The heritage of the brand was confirmed for me  when my dad saw me wearing mine and commented on how everyone used to have a pair of Palladiums back in the 90’s;  this made think that there could not a better time to be wearing a classic style boot, as this spring/summer it seems to be all about ‘taking it back to the 90’s’!

I wore these boots with my slouchy boyfriend jeans, a white tee and a statement jumper ‘love don’t pay the bills’ from LA brand Dimepiece. It’s all about female independence ladies! Slogan tops are ‘in’ this summer (although I think their always going to be a classic!) and this jumper is great for when it’s still a bit chilly, but I’d say maybe get a statement T-shirt or vest instead as we are having these sunny spells!

Jeans and a classic white T-shirt is a look I love in the summer as it’s so simple. Add trainers or boots and it can be worn casual or add a pair heels and you’ve got chic!

Along with my boots I added a plain black snapback and sunglasses (summer essentials!).  I’d also wear theses boots with shorts and dresses at festivals as they are comfortable, waterproof and also will give me a little bit of extra height in the crowd whilst protecting my toes!

Palladium’s signature boot is their classic Pampa, but suitable for Spring/Summer they also have a range of bright colours available in their Monochrome and Blanc Hi ranges pictured below.

Palladium have also created exciting collaborations, in the past with Pharrell and this year with Tokyo brand Atmos. The Atmos boots actually glow in the dark, so not only will your feet be glowing at festivals this year, you will also have a guide back to your tent in the dark!

You can check out more from Palladium boots here.

I’m excited for summer to be coming and I’m hoping that it lasts until August! More summer outfits posts will be coming soon, so stay tuned!

I recently bought a stripe turtleneck crop top from American Apparel and have been using it to layer under jumpers and shirts. I find it’s a nice pop of detail for an outfit, the same as adding some funky socks! My white boots, with a chunky heel add a 90’s vibe and are going to be great to pair with more summery outfits as it gets warmer.

I got my surfboard jumper and the Beyonce Concert I went to last month, as I am a massive sucker for tour merchandise… But hey I love it and this is how I’ve been wearing it!

I got my hair chopped and coloured this month! It was time for a change so I went shorter and blonder! The fab team at Shine Hair Salon Bristol are the only people I let touch my hair, they are the best! They possess precision and unique flare in cutting and colouring and are always on hand with inspirational ideas if you just can’t decide what to do!
